Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy is used to treat acute/chronic pain, and to improve health and athletic performance.  The goal of laser therapy is to deliver light energy units to damaged cells.  This helps to stimulate the mitochondria to accelerate ATP production.  This increases a damaged cells energy to help transform it from a state of illness to a stable state of health.

Cold Laser therapy is a safe, pain-free way of relieving pain and accelerating healing in the body.  Cold Laser therapy is used to treat both acute and chronic pain.  Cold Laser therapy works by using light waves at specific frequencies to energize the cells in the body.  This stimulation of the cells essentially “wakes them up” and allows them to heal at an accelerated rate.  By this mechanism the laser is able to transform cells from a state of illness to a state of health improving tissue function.

In most cases, acute conditions respond well to treatment  in 1-6 treatments.  Chronic conditions can take longer to respond to treatment because of the longevity of symptoms and may require 6-12 treatments.  Most patients begin seeing improvement in pain in the first couple of treatments.  Cold Laser therapy  is a non-covered service through all health insurances at this time.  Your doctor will be happy to discuss cost and anticipated treatment plan duration with you prior to beginning a course of treatment.
